Testimonials

Western Colorado Alliance for Community Action idealism and practical organizing skills offer a blueprint we all can follow, "The true heart of our democracy is sustained and elevated by organizations like this."
- John Nichols, author of The Milagro Beanfield War

Mission

Western Colorado Alliance for Community Action brings people together across Western Colorado to build grass roots power through community organizing and leadership development.

Background Statement

Western Colorado Alliance was formed in 1980 (under the name Western Colorado Congress) as a federation of local groups facing threats to their communities from extractive industries and other powerful interests. Over the decades, our work has grown to include a wide range of issues that impact Western Colorado communities. Western Colorado Alliance brings the voices of everyday people to the critical decisions that impact our everyday lives.

Through grassroots organizing and leadership development, our Alliance works to address the critical issues facing Colorado’s Western Slope and to build people’s skills and exert our collective political power to achieve lasting change.
