Mission

To inspire and empower kids to lead healthy, active, and happy lives through biking.

Background Statement

KOB was founded in 2005 by Paige Carmichael, who recognized that the health of youth was in crisis and believed that all children should have the chance to experience the freedom, confidence, and joy of riding a bike. What started as a dream grew into an inspirational and motivational organization that transforms children's lives. In 2007, Kids on Bikes incorporated as a 501(c)(3) and is now operated under the leadership of the Executive Director, Nikki McComsey, CPA with oversight from a talented and involved board of directors.

Evolving from a singular focus of providing bikes to kids, KOB has expanded programming that that includes teaching about a healthy lifestyle and bike safety and providing organized bike rides to get more kids active.
