The Spina Bifida Association of Colorado mission is to educate Colorado about Spina Bifida, a birth defect, which has no cure. People living with Spina Bifida thrive in when offered ready access to resources, education, support and community engagement. Our organization, community and our volunteers believe that an individual's life choices are not impeded by Spina Bifida and that they will experience rich and fulfilling lives.

To build a better and brighter future for all those impacted by Spina Bifida in Colorado.

Background Statement

We were founded in 1971 by a group of parents/families looking to build a community of support for those living with Spina Bifida. Some of those early founders went on to establish the Spina Bifida Association of Colorado. SBACO works to bring individuals and families affected by Spina Bifida together through networking events, educational events and other support.
