Background Statement
The MOPS Story:
In 1973, eight women in Wheat Ridge, Colorado met for two hours while their children were cared for. These young moms talked, laughed, ate, made a craft, and shared a short devotional. Soon, moms and families discovered a personal relationship with Jesus. As their relationships grew deeper and the group grew larger, these women knew in a deep way that mothering matters - and that better moms can make a better world.
Not content to be spectators in the kingdom of God, MOPS moms discovered and cultivated their leadership gifts. As women in MOPS moved around the United States, they took the concept of MOPS with them and new groups formed.
