Background Statement
Colorado Nonprofit Association, established as the Colorado Association of Nonprofit Organizations in 1986, is a leader and catalyst for increased collaboration between associations, agencies, private industry and influential individuals across the nonprofit and public sectors. The dramatic growth of the nonprofit sector over the last ten years has underscored the need for a strong organization to lead and guide nonprofits, and the Association has risen to that challenge. We have been able to enhance its visibility and carve out a niche as the expert in nonprofit best practices in Colorado. Our influence has grown tremendously along with our partnerships with business and government officials.
The Association takes the lead for statewide initiatives for and on behalf of the sector.
The Association provides a full array of capacity-building training sessions and public forums to enable nonprofit sector staff to stay current with the latest issues and best practices to help them govern and manage their organizations more effectively and efficiently. As nonprofits emerge from the recession, gaining the knowledge and tools to improve both effectiveness and efficiency will be more important than ever before.
We conduct research on behalf of the sector and provide toolkits to build the capacity and efficiency of nonprofits.
Over the last few years, the Association has taken a lead role in statewide initiatives to address the public policy needs of the sector.
We provide exemplary benefits to members - with particular attention to cost-saving programs.
