Jenifer has a Masters in Non-Profit Management from the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. She has a B.S. in Journalism (News and Print Editorial) and a Minor in Environmental Science from Colorado State University. Jenifer Doane has worked in the marketing and public relations field since 2000. Working both in the nonprofit and education sectors, Jenifer has served as a Recruitment Specialist, Special Events and Development Coordinator, and Assistant Director. She most recently joins us from the Crested Butte Land Trust where she coordinated public relations, special events, fundraising and advertising. Prior to the Land Trust, Jenifer worked at the Colorado School of Mines in the Student Life department. She coordinated several large-scale multi-day events for 1000+ participants, plus developed leadership curriculum, assisted with marketing and outreach as well as served as an Executive Board member for the Colorado Education Services and Development Association (CESDA). Jenifer has a passion for working within the nonprofit sector especially for organizations that work to promote social justice and/or environmental stewardship. Jenifer grew up in the Denver metro area, loves the outdoors and enjoys quilting.
Mary Ann Hamilton has been with the Butterfly Pavilion since May of 2002 and has worked as a zookeeper, supervisor and now manager of the curatorial department. She grew up in south Texas and received a Bachelors of Science in Bioenvironmental Sciences and Entomology from Texas A&M University, College Station. Mary Ann is currently working towards a graduate degree in Education - Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment at Regis University. She is a member of the Sonoran Arthropod Studies Institute and of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. Mary Ann has a profound passion for invertebrates, especially insects, and also has an intense interest in teaching. In addition to her curatorial duties, Mary Ann works closely with both high school and college level interns within the curatorial department.
Cynthia Killingbeck has worked in the retail and customer service field since 1990. She has worked as a supervisor, manager and buyer for multiple business types. She has come to us from the Museum of Nature and Science. At the museum, she performed as a buyer and manager of the gift shop and receiving departments. She has eight years experience working for the Starbucks Coffee Company, supervising and managing multiple stores, training districe managers and supervisors in excellent customer service and store operations. Cynthia grew up in the Denver metro area, loves the great outdoors, and has a passion for nature of all types. She has volunteered for the Denver Urban Gardens, the Starlight Foundation and, with a conservation-minded group, has adopted a park to clean up in Westminster, Colorado. She is a member of the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Patrick has been involved in environmental education for over 14 years including over five years as an Interpretive Naturalist and nearly six years in youth and adult education program development. He has an advanced knowledge of Freshwater Aquatic Entomology, and participated in a one-month biodiversity study abroad. Patrick has spent over five years in professional management and organizational leadership administrating the Butterfly Pavilion’s Education Department; he has a strong knowledge of non-formal conservation education in meeting the content-appropriate needs of visitors of all ages. He is actively involved with a number of environmental conservation awareness groups. He participates with Volunteers of America as well as serves as Board President of the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education (CAEE).
Amy Yarger has worked in the public horticulture field since 1996. She received a bachelor's degree in ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of California, Irvine and then went on to study plant-animal interactions at the University of Michigan. Her master's thesis concerned the effects of noxious weeds on pollinator-plant relationships. Her work at the Butterfly Pavilion, where she has been a horticulturist since 2000, touches on many of her passions: plants, insects, habitat conservation and science education.
